What Is Gokhru?
Gokhru is a traditional herb that has been used in Indian herbal practices for generations. It is commonly known as Gokshura and is botanically associated with Tribulus terrestris.
Gokhru is traditionally valued as an important herb in Ayurveda and is commonly processed into herbal powder for use in traditional wellness practices.
At Husband Wife Farm, we believe that the quality of an herbal powder depends not only on the herb itself, but also on how carefully it is cleaned, washed, dried, processed and packed.
From Gokhru Herb to Herbal Powder
The journey of Gokhru powder begins with carefully selected raw Gokhru. Before the herb is processed further, it is thoroughly cleaned to remove soil, dust and other unwanted foreign matter.
Our processing approach focuses on maintaining hygiene and careful handling throughout the journey of the herb.
The general processing journey is:
Selection → Cleaning → Thorough Washing → Drying → Grinding → Packing
Every stage has an important role in preparing the final herbal powder.
Thorough Washing of Gokhru
Gokhru collected from agricultural fields can naturally contain soil, dust and other surface impurities.
At Husband Wife Farm, the raw herb is thoroughly washed in dedicated washing tanks before it moves to the drying stage.
Careful washing is an important part of our processing process because we want the herb to be properly cleaned before further processing.
Drying Gokhru
After washing, the Gokhru needs to be dried properly before grinding.
At Husband Wife Farm, we have a dedicated covered solar drying setup covering approximately 240 square metres, with a height of around 20 feet. The setup allows us to dry herbs in a covered environment rather than leaving them exposed directly to harsh sunlight.
We also have a dedicated electric drying system that can be used when faster and controlled drying is required.
The objective of this stage is to reduce moisture sufficiently so that the herb is ready for further processing.
Grinding Into Gokhru Powder
Once the Gokhru has been properly dried, it is processed using suitable grinding equipment to convert the dried herb into a fine powder.
Consistent grinding helps produce a convenient herbal powder that can be handled, measured and packed appropriately.
After grinding, the powder is packed carefully to protect it from moisture and contamination during storage and transportation.
Traditional Uses of Gokhru
Gokhru has a long history of traditional use in Ayurveda and other Indian herbal practices.
Traditionally, Gokhru has been associated with formulations and preparations related to urinary and general wellness. It has also been used traditionally as part of various herbal preparations.
However, traditional use should not be confused with proven medical treatment. Herbal products should be used responsibly, and anyone taking medicines or managing a medical condition should consult a qualified healthcare professional before using herbs therapeutically.
Why Proper Processing Matters
The journey from a raw herb to a finished herbal powder involves much more than simply grinding the plant.
Proper cleaning, washing, drying and grinding are important parts of responsible herbal processing.
At Husband Wife Farm, we pay attention to each stage because we believe that quality begins long before the product reaches the packet.
Our Farm-to-Powder Approach
Husband Wife Farm is a farmer-led herbal brand focused on bringing herbs from the farm through careful processing and finally to the customer.
Our philosophy is simple:
Quality over quantity.
We believe that the same care we would expect for herbs used by our own family should go into the products we offer our customers.
From washing tanks and covered solar drying to electric dehydration and grinding, our processing setup allows us to handle herbs with greater care and consistency.
